Sample CMA Church Fundraising Letter

Dear ___________,

God has called Amy and me into a new adventure and we would love for you to be part of it.

Four years ago, I was working as a CPA and Controller when God began to stir in my heart a passion to serve Him in fulltime ministry. At the time, I was serving as a layperson at Mountain Park Community Church so I enrolled in Fuller Theological Seminary and started taking classes. Then, in June 2005, I accepted the position of Pastor at Crosspoint Church in Tempe.

It was during our two years at Crosspoint that God developed a desire in us to reach the emerging generation. We were deeply hurt by the statistics and the reality that shouted out to us that as Christians, we are losing this generation which is now maturing into their twenties and thirties. God challenged us to do something about that – something that embraces those disillusioned with Christianity and the Church, but not disillusioned with God and spirituality.

It is now time! God has placed a burden in our hearts to plant a Church in Gilbert, Arizona and we are embracing our call.

Gilbert is a community exploding with growth (the 5th fastest growing city in America last year) and is surrounded by other fast growing communities in the surrounding area. The demographic studies show a significant increase in the number of families moving into the area each month. And we are one of those families moving to Gilbert!

Our vision is to create a place where everyone can experience God and develop new relationships in our community. Over the past few months, we have begun the work needed to accomplish our vision and have made vast strides towards that goal, including being blessed with a new site - a new school in the heart of the community.

As you can imagine, such a calling takes a tremendous investment. Not just emotionally, spiritually and physically, but financially as well. To make this happen we need a committed network of financial support – churches, organizations, friends, and family – who believe in the importance of having lives and families changed through the work of the local Church. We need your help!

Our goal is to raise $100,000 for the first year’s budget, which includes start up and on-going costs such as facility rental, audio and video equipment, children’s ministry supplies, publicity and promotional materials, and various outreach and ministry programs. Additionally, CMA will generously match every dollar contributed dollar for dollar!

Will you make a personal investment in us and our ministry in this pivotal first year?

If you have questions or would like to meet personally, we would welcome the opportunity to share our hearts and dreams in a more personal way. All gifts are tax deductible. You can make checks payable to Gilbert Community Church and mail them to the address below. Thank you in advance for partnering with our community as we seek to touch lives and build a church that will impact the city we love.

We are thrilled to be on this journey. We hope you will walk with us, support us, and celebrate with us what God is doing and will do. We appreciate your prayers.

With Great Anticipation,

Tom and Amy Carlini
